BATJ

The British Association for Teaching Japanese as a Foreign Language (BATJ) was formed in March 1998 with the aim of encouraging and promoting Japanese language education in the UK, particularly by stimulating teaching and encouraging research in the field of language studies as an academic discipline. The association’s first conference was held in London in September 1998 at the Japan Foundation Nihongo Centre, which co-hosted the conference. The BATJ admits individuals supporting its aims, with a fiscal year starting from 1st October.
