About us

This Special Issue on ‘UN Policing: Contemporary Perspectives on Global Peace and Security’ invites contributions from researchers, practitioners, academics, students, and professionals working in peacekeeping, internal security, law enforcement, conflict studies, diplomacy, and policing. The issue seeks to advance knowledge on the evolving role of UN Police (UNPOL), guided by the vision of a people-centred, agile, modern, rights-based, and norm-driven policing system. The objective is to build scholarly and professional understanding of UNPOL’s work in conflict and post-conflict contexts, including protection of civilians, institutional reform, serious and organized crime response, gender-responsive policing, community-oriented approaches, and specialized policing capacities.
