South China University of Technology is a major public research university located in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, China. It is one of China’s well-known “Double First-Class” and “Project 985” universities, which means it is considered among the country’s elite higher education institutions. Founded in 1952, SCUT was created by merging engineering departments from several universities in southern and central China. Since then, it has grown into a comprehensive, multidisciplinary university with strong roots in engineering and technology, and expanding strengths in science, business, architecture, medicine, and humanities.
